Sesame Seed Crusted Ahi Tuna
½ cup black sesame seeds
½ cup white sesame seeds
2 6 oz. Ahi steaks
¼ cup olive oil
salt & pepper to taste METHOD:
Season Ahi steaks evenly with salt & pepper on both sides.
In a bowl, mix together the black and white sesame seeds.
Place Ahi steaks in bowl, thoroughly coating each side of the fish with sesame seeds. Compact the fish with your hands if needed.
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat; sear each side of the Ahi until seeds are golden brown in color (approx. 30-45 seconds on each side).
Slice the Ahi & serve warm.
Serve sliced tuna over a bed of greens or accompany with steamed white or brown rice.
Garnish with thinly-sliced scallions.
