Clambake Recipe

Clam Bake for Six People

Ingredients

Our Kit Provides

5 lbs. Manila Clams
4 8-oz Lobster tails
1 lb White Shrimp

What you need to purchase:
2 cups Cold water or Chicken Broth
1 cup Dry White wine
1 TB Sea salt
6 Garlic cloves, smashed
1 Onion, sliced
6 Ears of Corn – shucked and broken in half
2 lbs Red potatoes - cut into halves
1 bch Flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1 stick (8 ounces) unsalted butter, melted

6 Lemons (for garnish)

METHOD:

1. Place Onions, Potatoes, Clams, Shrimp, and Lobster Tails, and Corn, in that order, into large pot. Add wine, then water (or broth) to cover. Add Salt, Pepper and garlic, and bring to a boil.

2. Add the onion and potatoes to the pot, cover, and cook for 15 minutes. Nestle the lobsters on top of the onion and potatoes, cover, and cook for 3 minutes. Add the clams and corn and continue to cook, covered, for 8 to 10 minutes more. Check to see if the clamshells have opened; if not, continue to cook until they have.

3. Carefully remove the pot from the heat and drain the cooking liquid. Tip the contents of the pot onto a table lined with newspaper or butcher paper or transfer to a large platter. Sprinkle everything with the herbs and serve with small bowls of melted butter along with the crusty bread and lemon wedges. Instruct guests to discard any clams that haven’t opened.

Garnish with Lemons.
Serve with hot, crusty bread.
